The School Admissions Process

If you can meet these Eleven Basic Requirements...You Must

  1.  ....be at least (18) years of age to drive a (CMV) within state lines.
  2. ....be at least (21) years of age to drive across state lines, to carry hazardous materials.
  3. ....be at least (21) years of age to drive a (CMV) to transport any passengers.
  4. In addition, you cannot possess more than one driver’s license.
  5. Your driving privileges cannot be suspended, revoked, cancelled or disqualified.
  6. You must meet medical requirements of the FMCSR to pass a DOT Physical.
  7. You must be able to pass a DOT Drug Screen.
  8. You must have a Good Driving Record     (*Inquire for Explanation)
  9. Past Criminal Record?- (Inquire)
  10. To receive a Class A Driver License, you must have a Social Security Number & Original Card for Identification purposes at the SOS.
  11. Most importantly - You Must Have The Desire To Suceed!

CMV - Commercial Motor Vehicle

FMCSR - Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

DOT - Deparment of Transportation

SOS - Secretary of State

CLASS A LICENSE - Any combination of vehicles with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds provided the GVWR of the vehicle(s) being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds. (With proper endorsements, holders may operate Class B and C type vehicles)
